RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN KNOWLEDGE LEVEL ON REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH AND ATTITUDE ON PRE-MARITAL SEXUAL BEHAVIOR IN FEMALE STUDENT MA ALI MAKSUM WITH 15-18 YEARS OLD AT KRAPYAK YOGYAKARTA[1]

ABSTRACT

Background: following rapid advance in technology and information field, as well as shifting in oriental custom, it allows premarital sex increases in teenager. It can cause various health problems for teenager. Effort to be done for resolving this problem is by delivering reproductive health knowledge in order for teenager to be able to have positive attitude on premarital sexual behavior, so that they do not trap in premarital sex.

Objective: to know relationship between knowledge level on reproductive health and attitude on premarital sex.

Method: the research used cross-sectional design. Population of the research was female students MA Ali Maksum at Krapyak Yogyakarta period 2009, with 50 respondents. Technique of taking respondent was random sampling. Data collection for knowledge level on reproductive health and attitude on premarital sex behavior used closed questionnaire. Data analysis used Kendall tau.

Result: there was relationship between knowledge level on reproductive health and attitude on premarital sex. It was proved by Kendall tau test, Z test > Z statistic (3.638 > 0.35).

Conclusion: most respondent had high knowledge level and intermediary attitude was 14 respondents (28%).

Suggestion: for female students in MA Ali Maksum it is expected to dig and look for information on reproductive health and can apply and take positive value from such knowledge.
